Here in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech, graduate students are required to take a Qualifying Exam at the end of their second year. Each student submits a written report of their research project, presents a 45 minute PowerPoint presentation of their project progress and future aims, and then answers questions from their advisory committee. The Exam must be passed in order for a student to continue on in their studies towards a Ph.D. We are pleased to report that Mahtab not only gave a great talk detailing her thesis project and her significant progress to date, but was well-prepared to answer the questions from her committee.
Congratulations, Mahtab!
